MicroLogix 1100 Programmable Logic Controller Systems

MicroLogix™ 1100 Programmable Logic Controller Systems add embedded EtherNet/IP™, on-line editing, and an LCD panel to the MicroLogix family. The built-in LCD panel shows controller status, I/O status, and simple operator messages. With 2 analog inputs, 10 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs, the MicroLogix 1100 controller can handle a wide variety of tasks.

System Overview

The MicroLogix 1000 family are inexpensive compact PLCs. Its features configuration of 10 digital I/O (6 inputs and  outputs), 16 digital I/O (10 inputs and 6 outputs), 25 I/O (12 digital inputs, 4 analog inputs, 8 digital outputs, and 1 analog output), or 32 digital I/O (20 inputs and 12 outputs) in multiple electrical configurations of digital I/O.

They are best suited for I/O options and electrical configurations.

      • Choose your programming device with easy programming. These controllers can be programmed in ladder logic with MicroLogix 1000 A.I. Series Software®, PLC 500 A. I. Series Programming Software, RSLogix 500™ Windows Programming Software, or the MicroLogix Hand-Held Programmer (1761-HHP-B30).
      • This programming language is based on relay ladder wiring diagrams to your control program simplifying troubleshooting of your control program.
      • Extensive instruction set—Over 65 instructions including simple bit, timer, and counter instructions, as well as instructions for powerful applications like sequencers, high-speed counter, and shift registers.
      • Rapid—The time of execution for a typical 500-instruction program is only 1.56 ms.

Product Design

The MicroLogix 1000 comes in a single package with processor, power supply, and all its I/O circuits packaged.

Four I/O sizes (10, 16, 25, and 32) are useful in many situations.

      • Electrical needs works with various electrical configurations of digital I/O:
        • 24V DC inputs and relay outputs with a 24V DC power supply.
        • 24V DC inputs and 24V DC FET and relay outputs with a 24V DC power supply.
        • 24V DC inputs and relay outputs with a 120/240V AC power supply.
        • 24V AC inputs and relay outputs with a 120/240V AC power supply.
        • 120V AC inputs and relay outputs with a 120/240V AC power supply.
        • 120V AC inputs and triAC and relay outputs with a 120/240V AC power supply.
      • Isolated relay contact outputs (at least two per controller). Allow outputs on the same unit to switch different control voltages.
      • The 25-I/O models include 4 analog inputs and an analog output in addition to the 12 digital inputs and the 8 digital (contact) outputs.

Communication

MicroLogix 1000 has build in RS232C. The following communications can use this port.

Communication Description
Point-to-point communication • Works with direct connection of programming and operator interface devices, and supports dial-in remote programming.
DF1 protocol • Works with DF1 half-duplex slave protocol for connection to a modem in SCADA applications.
DH-485 communication • Interface to a DH-485 network through an Advanced Interface Converter (1761-NET-AIC).
• 32 devices can interface to the DH-485 network.
• The communication port provides for program upload and download.
DeviceNet communication •Interface a DeviceNet network of up to 64 devices through a DeviceNet Interface (1761-NET-DNI).
• The DeviceNet Interface provides slave I/O and peer-to-peer controller communication.
EtherNet/IP communication • Connect to an EtherNet/IP network through an EtherNet/IP-to-RS-232-C interface (1761-NET-ENI, 1761-NET-ENIW).
• This module supports program monitoring and upload/download, data collection, and controller peer-to-peer communication.
• It can also send e-mail messages via SMTP and display status and configuration information through a built-in Internet server.
